Complete Squad List for Euro 2008

A round-up of all the Euro 2008 squads after deadline day.
FRANCE
Mathieu Flamini and Djibril Cisse were the highest-profile casualties as France coach Raymond Domenech settled on his final 23-man party.
Midfielder Flamini, who recently left Arsenal for Milan, was left out as Domenech favoured Lassana Diarra, Claude Makele, Patrick Vieira and Jeremy Toulalan for the central midfield positions.
Cisse proved the fall guy as Bafetimbi Gomis earned a surprise place in the squad a day after celebrating his first cap with two goals in a 2-0 warm-up win over Ecuador.
Domenech, who had to cross out seven names from a provisional list of 30 players announced earlier this month, decided to keep the 22-year-old St Etienne striker.
The French boast a formidable list of forwards including Thierry Henry, Franck Ribery, Nicolas Anelka and Lyon starlet Karim Benzema. There was no place for David Trezeguet.
Goalkeepers: Gregory Coupet (Olympique Lyon), Sebastien Frey (Fiorentina), Steve Mandanda (Olympique Marseille).
Defenders: Eric Abidal (Barcelona), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Lyon), Francois Clerc (Olympique Lyon), Sebastien Squillaci (Olympique Lyon), William Gallas (Arsenal), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Lilian Thuram (Barcelona).
Midfielders: Lassana Diarra (Portsmouth), Claude Makelele (Chelsea), Florent Malouda (Chelsea), Samir Nasri (Olympique Marseille), Jeremy Toulalan (Olympique Lyon), Patrick Vieira (Inter Milan).
Forwards: Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea), Karim Benzema (Olympique Lyon), Sidney Govou (Olympique Lyon), Bafetimbi Gomis (St Etienne), Thierry Henry (Barcelona), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich).
ITALY
Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has been cut from Italy's Euro 2008 squad. Coach Roberto Donadoni named a 24-man squad last week and waited until the UEFA deadline to decide on the one player he had to drop.
Montolivo, who has one cap, had been expected to be the unlucky player having been a surprise pick in the initial squad. Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella and AS Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani were the other likely contenders.
Midfielder Simone Perrotta has also recovered from a slight calf problem.
Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Marco Amelia (Livorno), Morgan De Sanctis (Sevilla)
Defenders: Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid), Marco Materazzi (Internazionale), Christian Panucci (Roma), Andrea Barzagli (Palermo), Gianluca Zambrotta (Barcelona), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Fabio Grosso (Lyon)
Midfielders: Andrea Pirlo (Milan), Gennaro Gattuso (Milan), Massimo Ambrosini (Milan), Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Simone Perrotta (Roma), Alberto Aquilani (Roma), Mauro Camoranesi (Juventus)
Forwards: Luca Toni (Bayern Munich), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), Antonio Di Natale (Udinese), Marco Borriello (Genoa), Fabio Quagliarella (Udinese), Antonio Cassano (Sampdoria, on loan from Real Madrid)
NETHERLANDS
Netherlands coach Marco van Basten omitted former Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz from his squad in favour of Wigan captain Mario Melchiot.
Boulahrouz, now of Sevilla, joined the party when Clarence Seedorf decided to opt out of the tournament.
However former Netherlands striker Van Basten - who scored a stunning volley in the final of the competition in 1988 - ultimately selected Melchiot.
The defender missed the 3-0 win over Ukraine on Saturday with a knock.
Goalkeepers: Edwin van der Sar (Manchester United), Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax Amsterdam), Henk Timmer (Feyenoord)
Defenders: Wilfred Bouma (Aston Villa), Tim de Cler (Feyenoord), John Heitinga (Ajax), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburg), Mario Melchiot (Wigan), Andre Ooijer (Blackburn Rovers)
Midfielders: Ibrahim Afellay (PSV Eindhoven), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord), Orlando Engelaar (Twente Enschede), Nigel de Jong (Hamburg), Wesley Sneijder (Real Madrid), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburg), Demy de Zeeuw (AZ Alkmaar)
Forwards: Ryan Babel (Liverpool), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Ajax), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Ruud van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Arjen Robben (Real Madrid), Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (Celtic).
ROMANIA
Romania coach Victor Piturca dropped Dinamo Bucharest striker Florin Bratu having already sent home injured midfielder Ovidiu Petre, goalkeeper Danut Coman and uncapped midfielder Ciprian Deac from his provisional squad.
Experienced 28-year-old Bratu had been in good form for his club at the end of the domestic championship but Piturca decided to leave him at home.
Goalkeepers: Bogdan Lobont (Dinamo Bucharest), Eduard Stanciou (CFR Cluj), Marius Popa (Poli Stiinta Timisoara)
Defenders: Cosmin Contra (Getafe), Dorin Goian (Steaua Bucharest), Sorin Ghionea (Steaua Bucharest), Gabriel Tamas (Auxerre), Cosmin Moti (Dinamo Bucharest), Cristian Sapunaru (Rapid Bucharest), Razvan Rat (Shakhtar Donetsk), Stefan Radu (Lazio);
Midfielders: Cristian Chivu (Internazionale), Mirel Radoi (Steaua Bucharest), Florentin Petre (CSKA Sofia), Paul Codrea (Siena), Nicolae Dica (Steaua Bucharest), Banel Nicolita (Steaua Bucharest), Adrian Cristea (Dinamo Bucharest), Razvan Cocis (Lokomotiv Moscow);
Forwards: Adrian Mutu (Fiorentina), Ciprian Marica (VfB Stuttgart), Daniel Niculae (Auxerre), Marius Niculae (Inverness Caledonian Thistle).
GERMANY
Germany coach Joachim Loew cut the inexperienced trio of Marko Marin, Jermaine Jones and Patrick Helmes when he named his final 23-man squad for Euro 2008.
Marin, the 19-year-old Borussia Moenchengladbach winger, had yet to win his first cap when he was named to Loew's provisional squad earlier this month, while Schalke midfielder Jones and Cologne striker Helmes had played just five times between them.
"All three of the players did fantastically well in training and would have taken well earned places in the squad," coach Loew said.
Goalkeepers: Jens Lehmann (Arsenal), Robert Enke (Hanover 96), Rene Adler (Bayer Leverkusen)
Defenders: Christoph Metzelder (Real Madrid), Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Arne Friedrich (Hertha Berlin), Marcell Jansen (Bayern Munich), Clemens Fritz (Werder Bremen), Heiko Westermann (Schalke 04)
Midfielders: Michael Ballack (Chelsea), Thomas Hitzlsperger (VfB Stuttgart), Simon Rolfes (Bayer Leverkusen), Torsten Frings (Werder Bremen), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Piotr Trochowski (Hamburg SV), Tim Borowski (Werder Bremen), David Odonkor (Real Betis)
Forwards: Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich), Lukas Podolski (Bayern Munich), Mario Gomez (VfB Stuttgart), Kevin Kuranyi (Schalke 04), Oliver Neuville (Borussia Moenchengladbach)
CROATIA
Croatia manager Slaven Bilic has dropped midfielder Anas Sharbini and defender Manuel Pamic from his squad.
He said that the two players who lost out on a place in the squad would travel with the team to Austria and take part in training.
"Sharbini and Pamic are young prospects and they will come with us because they can fill in positions where we might have problems during the tournament," he said.
Goalkeepers: Stipe Pletikosa (Spartak Moscow), Vedran Runje (Lens), Mario Galinovic (Panathinaikos)
Defenders: Vedran Corluka (Manchester City), Dario Simic (Milan), Robert Kovac (Borussia Dortmund), Josip Simunic (Hertha Berlin), Dario Knezevic (Livorno), Hrvoje Vejic (Tom Tomsk)
Midfielders: Danijel Pranjic (Heerenveen), Darijo Srna (Shakhtar Donetsk), Niko Kovac (Salzburg), Luka Modric (Tottenham), Niko Kranjcar (Portsmouth), Jerko Leko (Monaco), Ivan Rakitic (Schalke 04), Ognjen Vukojevic (Dinamo Zagreb), Nikola Pokrivac (Monaco)
Forwards: Mladen Petric (Borussia Dortmund), Ivica Olic (Hamburg SV), Ivan Klasnic (Werder Bremen), Igor Budan (Parma), Nikola Kalinic (Hajduk Split)
POLAND
Poland coach Leo Beenhakker has dropped Grzegorz Bronowicki as well as Radoslaw Majewski and Radoslaw Matusiak from his final Euro 2008 squad.
In the case of Bronowicki, Beenhakker decided to drop him due to a slow recuperation from a knee injury.
Beenhakker said Majewski, 21, was still too young while Matusiak, who scored several vital goals in the qualifiers, has struggled to find his form.
Goalkeepers: Artur Boruc (Celtic), Tomasz Kuszczak (Manchester United), Lukasz Fabianski (Arsenal)
Defenders: Michal Zewlakow (Olympiakos), Marcin Wasilewski (Anderlecht), Adam Kokoszka (Wisla Krakow), Mariusz Jop (FK Moscow), Jacek Bak (Austria Vienna), Jakub Wawrzyniak (Legia Warsaw), Pawel Golanski (Steaua Bucharest)
Midfielders: Mariusz Lewandowski (Shakhtar Donetsk), Dariusz Dudka (Wisla Krakow), Rafal Murawski (Lech Poznan), Jakub Blaszczykowski (Borussia Dortmund), Lukasz Gargula (GKS Belchatow), Jacek Krzynowek (VfL Wolfsburg), Michal Pazdan (Gornik Zabrze), Roger Guerreiro (Legia Warsaw)
Forwards: Euzebiusz Smolarek (Racing Santander), Maciej Zurawski (Larissa), Marek Saganowski (Southampton), Wojciech Lobodzinski (Wisla Krakow), Tomasz Zahorski (Gornik Zabrze)
AUSTRIA
Austria coach Josef Hickersberger has named his 23-man squad for Euro 2008, adding Martin Harnik as a surprise fourth striker alongside Roland Linz, Erwin Hoffer and Roman Kienast.
Juergen Macho and Alex Manninger will compete for the first-choice spot in goal after a serious stomach complaint forced goalkeeper Helge Payer to pull out of the team earlier this week.
Hickersberger left out Rapid Vienna's Stefan Maierhofer, who played a key part in the team's league title success with seven goals in 11 appearances.
Goalkeepers: Alexander Manninger (Siena), Juergen Macho (AEK Athens), Ramazan Ozcan (Hoffenheim)
Defenders: Gyorgy Garics (Napoli), Ronald Gercaliu (Austria Vienna), Martin Hiden (Kaernten), Markus Katzer (Rapid Vienna), Juergen Patocka (Rapid Vienna), Emmanuel Pogatetz (Middlesbrough), Sebastian Proedl (Sturm Graz), Martin Stranzl (Spartak Moscow)
Midfielders: Rene Aufhauser (Salzburg), Christian Fuchs (Mattersburg), Andreas Ivanschitz (Panathinaikos), Umit Korkmaz (Rapid Vienna), Christoph Leitgeb (Salzburg), Juergen Saeumel (Sturm Graz), Joachim Standfest (Austria Vienna), Ivica Vastic (Linz)
Forwards: Erwin Hoffer (Rapid Vienna), Roman Kienast (Ham-Kam), Roland Linz (Braga), Martin Harnik (Werder Bremen)
SPAIN
Former captain and all-time leading scorer Raul and Barcelona teenager Bojan Krkic were left out of the Spain squad.
The surprise inclusions in coach Luis Aragones' 23-man squad were uncapped Villarreal midfielder Santi Cazorla and Real Zaragoza forward Sergio Garcia.
Poor campaigns from Valencia and Espanyol cost the former's Joaquin, David Albelda and Fernando Morientes their places as well as the latter's Albert Riera, Luis Garcia and Raul Tamudo.
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Pepe Reina (Liverpool), Andres Palop (Sevilla)
Defenders: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Raul Albiol (Valencia), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Fernando Navarro (Real Mallorca), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool), Juanito (Real Betis)
Midfielders: Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Ruben de la Red (Getafe), Marcos Senna (Villarreal)
Forwards: David Villa (Valencia), Daniel Guiza (Real Mallorca), Sergio Garcia (Real Zaragoza), Fernando Torres (Liverpool)
RUSSIA
Russia coach Guus Hiddink dropped newcomers Alexander Pavlenko and Oleg Ivanov when he named his final 23-man squad.
Pavlenko, who plays for Spartak Moscow, and fellow midfielder Ivanov, who plays for Krylya Sovietov Samara, were included in a provisional 25-man list but had a little chance of making the final selection.
"Both of them have made a good impression but unfortunately we had to make a choice," Hiddink said.
Goalkeepers: Igor Akinfeyev (CSKA Moscow), Vyacheslav Malafeyev (Zenit St Petersburg), Vladimir Gabulov (Amkar Perm)
Defenders: Sergei Ignashevich (CSKA Moscow), Alexei Berezutsky (CSKA Moscow), Vasily Berezutsky (CSKA Moscow), Alexander Anyukov (Zenit St Petersburg), Denis Kolodin (Dynamo Moscow), Renat Yanbayev (Lokomotiv Moscow)

SWEDEN
Henrik Larsson will make an unexpected return to the fold after he was included in Sweden's 23-man squad.
The 36-year-old, currently playing for Helsingborg, retired from international football following his nation's second round exit from the World Cup in 2006.
But doubts remain over the fitness of West Ham midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, who is struggling after sustaining a rib injury at the end of last month.
Goalkeepers: Andreas Isaksson (Manchester City), Rami Shaaban (Hammarby), Johan Wiland (Elfsborg Boras)
Defenders: Olof Mellberg (Aston Villa), Petter Hansson (Stade Rennes), Mikael Nilsson (Panathinaikos), Niclas Alexandersson (IFK Gothenburg), Andreas Granqvist (Helsingborg), Daniel Majstorovic (Basel), Fredrik Stoor (Rosenborg Trondheim), Mikael Dorsin (CFR Cluj)
Midfielders: Tobias Linderoth (Galatasaray), Daniel Andersson (Malmo), Anders Svensson (Elfsborg Boras), Kim Kallstrom (Olympique Lyon), Christian Wilhelmsson (Deportivo Coruna), Fredrik Ljungberg (West Ham United), Sebastian Larsson (Birmingham City)
Forwards: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan), Johan Elmander (Toulouse), Marcus Allback (FC Copenhagen), Markus Rosenberg (Werder Bremen), Henrik Larsson (Helsingborg)
GREECE
Greece coach Otto Rehhagel has kept faith with the players that took the reigning European champions to Euro 2008.
Only AEK Athens central defender Socratis Papastathopoulos was cut from the squad that travelled to Budapest for the friendly against Hungary on Saturday.
The squad features seven of the team that started the final against Portugal four years ago, including midfielder Angelos Basinas who will captain the side in Austria and Switzerland.
Goalkeepers: Antonis Nikopolidis (Olympiakos Piraeus), Costas Chalkias (Aris Salonika), Alexandros Tzorvas (OFI Crete)
Defenders: Giourkas Seitaridis (Atletico Madrid), Christos Patsatzoglou (Olympiakos), Nikos Spyropoulos (Panathinaikos), Traianos Dellas (AEK Athens), Loukas Vintra (Panathinaikos), Vassilis Torosidis (Olympiakos), Sotiris Kyrgiakos (Eintracht Frankfurt), Ioannis Goumas (Panathinaikos), Paraskevas Antzas (Olympiakos)
Midfielders: Angelos Basinas (Real Mallorca), Stelios Giannakopoulos (Bolton Wanderers), Georgios Karagounis (Panathinaikos), Costas Katsouranis (Benfica), Alexandros Tziolis (Panathinaikos)
Forwards: Giorgios Samaras (Celtic), Angelos Charisteas (Nuremberg), Dimitris Salpigidis (Panathinaikos), Fanis Gekas (Bayer Leverkusen), Yiannis Amanatidis (Eintracht Frankfurt), Nikos Liberopoulos (AEK)
PORTUGAL
Maniche was a surprise omission when Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari named his 23-man squad.
Former Porto and Benfica midfielder Maniche played in the Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006 finals and was a regular starter in Portugal's stuttering qualifying campaign. His brother Jorge Ribeiro of Boavista was included in the squad.
Scolari named 11 of the players that made up their Euro 2004 squad when they lost to Greece in the final and said the experienced group would rely on collective leadership.
Goalkeepers: Ricardo Pereira (Real Betis), Quim Silva (Benfica), Rui Patricio (Sporting)
Defenders: Miguel Monteiro (Valencia), Jose Bosingwa (Porto), Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea), Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea), Fernando Meira (VfB Stuttgart), Bruno Alves (Porto), Pepe (Real Madrid), Jorge Ribeiro (Boavista)

Forwards: Simao Sabrosa (Atletico Madrid), Ricardo Quaresma (Porto), Nuno Gomes (Benfica), Hugo Almeida (Werder Bremen, Helder Postiga (Panathinaikos)
TURKEY
Turkey coach Fatih Terim has withdrawn striker Halil Altintop, midfielder Yildiray Basturk and defender Ibrahim Kas from his final squad for Euro 2008.
The greatest surprise in the 26-man provisional squad named earlier this month had been the omission of veteran striker Hakan Sukur.
Defender Gokhan Gonul had already been withdrawn from the provisional squad due to injury with Emre Gungor stepping up.
Goalkeepers: Volkan Demirel (Fenerbahce), Rustu Recber (Besiktas), Tolga Zengin (Trabzonspor)
Defenders: Sabri Sarioglu (Galatasaray), Gokhan Zan (Besiktas), Emre Asik (Ankaraspor), Servet Cetin (Galatasaray), Hakan Kadir Balta (Galatasaray), Ugur Boral (Fenerbahce), Emre Gungor (Galatasaray)

CZECH REPUBLIC
Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner finalised his 23-man Euro 2008 squad after their 2-0 victory over Lithuania on Tuesday.
With Tomas Rosicky missing the tournament through injury, Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi will take over as team captain for Euro 2008.
"It is a great honour for me, but when Tomas Rosicky returns, he will be captain again," said the new Czech skipper.
Goalkeepers: Jaromir Blazek (Nurnberg), Petr Cech (Chelsea), Daniel Zitka (Anderlecht)
Defenders: Zdenek Grygera (Juventus), Marek Jankulovski, Michal Kadlec (Sparta), Radoslav Kovac (Spartak Moscow), Zdenek Pospech (Copenhagen), David Rozenhal (Lazio), Tomas Sivok (Sparta), Tomas Ujfalusi (Fiorentina)

Forwards: Milan Baros (Portsmouth), Martin Fenin (Eintracht Frankfurt), Jan Koller (Nurnberg), Vaclav Sverkos (Ostrava).
SWITZERLAND
Patrick Mueller's decision to leave Olympique Lyon without permission to play for his national team last week has been rewarded with a place in Switzerland's final 23-man squad.
Mueller, 31, made the final cut but Switzerland coach Koebi Kuhn axed fellow defender Mario Eggimann and striker Thomas Haeberli from the 25-man provisional squad that has been training in Lugano for the past 10 days.
Goalkeepers: Diego Benaglio (Wolfsburg), Pascal Zuberbuehler (Neuchatel Xamax), Eldin Jakupovic (Grasshoppers Zurich)

Here is list of 30 players of France squad for Euro 2008. The list will be reduced to 23 man squad, before May 28.

Defenders: Eric Abidal (Barcelona), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Lyon), Francois Clerc (Lyon), Sebastien Squillaci (Lyon), William Gallas (Arsenal), Julien Escude (Sevilla), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Philippe Mexes (AS Roma), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Lilian Thuram (Barcelona).

Evra ready for Les Bleus battle

Patrice Evra admits he still does not expect a spot in the France starting XI despite having just won the Champions League and Premier League. The 27-year-old left Manchester United's double celebrations to join up with Raymond Domenech's provisional 30-man squad as they prepare to face Italy, Holland and Romania in the group stage at Euro 2008.

But despite joining the squad as one of this season's most successful players at club level, Evra admits he has some way to go before he sees himself on the same level as some of his more established team-mates in Les Bleus' squad.

"I'm not going to expect a place in the starting XI just because I'm a European champion," Evra told a press conference at the France national team camp.
"I've come here with more confidence and I'm going to show that up to the (opening) match with Romania (on June 9).

"But I don't feel like an international. I don't even have 10 caps, I've only got nine. An international is someone who has had a great tournament."
Evra has international team-mate Nicolas Anelka to thank in part for his European Cup victory, after the Chelsea striker saw his sudden-death penalty saved by United keeper Edwin van der Sar

But the French left-back thinks Chelsea captain John Terry, who missed the chance to win the shootout when he hit the post with their fifth spot-kick, was most culpable.
"In England they want to say that (we won) because of Nico, but as far as I'm concerned the decisive penalty was John Terry's," he continued.

"When Terry slipped I knew that we were going to win. I knew nothing could stop us."
Now Evra is just as confident of continuing this season's success in Austria and Switzerland, where he believes the World Cup runners-up will be one of the favourites to win.
"All our players play in the biggest clubs in Europe, and the Lyon players are seven times champions of France," he explained.

"France has a good chance of winning this European Championship. It's up to us to believe in our potential, because every player in our squad strikes fear into our opponents."

Netherlands coach Marco van Basten has trimmed midfielder Denny Landzaat and goalkeeper Sander Boschker from his squad for Euro 2008.

Van Basten still needs to drop one more player before Wednesday's deadline for submitting the 23 names of his squad.
Landzaat made the squad for the 2006 World Cup finals but played only as a substitute while Boschker had been called into the provisional squad for the first time.
On Saturday, Van Basten said the last player to be dropped would be one of three defenders: Andre Ooijer, Khalid Boulahrouz or Mario Melchiot.
Melchiot missed training this week because of injury and will have to show on Monday and Tuesday that he has recovered sufficiently.
"We want to see how Melchiot is doing. Boulahrouz made a good impression and Ooijer is fit," Van Basten said after Saturday's 3-0 win against Ukraine in a warm-up match for the tournament which starts on June 7.
On Monday, the squad will gather in Hoenderloo to prepare for friendly matches against Denmark on Thursday and Wales next Sunday.

I'm back, That's why we love football

After very long times..
I've been busy this month. So, i couldn't write often. Now, i'm back. Prepare for my analisist for EURO 2008. Congratulation for Manchester United, English Premiere League Champion and also European Champions League Champion. I feel sorry for John Terry penalty kick. He don't deserve to be in a losing side. But that's football, sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't.

Let's prepare for next season football match. Euro 2008 will come in June. Transfer window will open. Where will Ronaldinho be?, Samuel Eto'o ? Gareth Barry ? Christiano Ronaldo maybe ?

We are waiting and waiting, that's why we love football.
